Class on 1/28
Today in
Mr. Schick’s Western Civilization class, we started the actual curriculum of
the last. We started to take notes in our notebooks. We learned all about the earliest
civilizations, especially Mesopotamia and the Sumerians. We learned what happened during the
Prehistoric Era and how we came to be.
We also talked a lot about the first form of writing called Cuneform and
how they took stone tools and turned it into writing that took many years to decipher.
We used later forms of writing to try and figure out what the little symbols
meant. Doing this helps us figure out
more of the history before we know and maybe how we came to be. We also learned what happens with the hierarchy
system, and how women were thought to be the lowest of all. Hunters were at the
top, the craftsmen, and then women.
